Darn it Andrew! now I want to try a 241... :(

Worst part is Rudy that I think my stock 241 is all dandy and spiffy then bloody Andrew sends me a text saying that his new Masterminded 241 will now give his ported MS660 a run for it's money.
Here I've been saying that it's a joy to own and run a stock saw occasionally and the mongrel tells me that. He has a black heart I tell you...

You used my 200T you liar...

Wow,,, did that have flippies,,,, I knew that !!!!!!!! (no I didn't).
Well that changes everything, I've used a flippy saw,,,, I must of been caught up in the power zone to notice it had flippies.

It's easy to get caught up like that Neil. If you were a bit taller you would have also noticed a slight change in the earth's gravitational pull when you gave it some throttle.

I see, I never noticed that but, I thought I felt the 2 foot threw saw log lift up off the skids when I come up under the log, but of coarse that's just stretching the truth for effect.

another short jab I see, I have a complex from all the broad sides I receive regarding my height, its not my fault i'm small and frail.

Hey this is interesting gents. Check out the speed of the young bloke in the bottom video. The government will be banning lever actions if they see this...

The funniest part was when you went to do a plunge cut and it threw you off balance. Anybody would think you were running a piped race saw :D

hahahahahah, yea I know what that was about, I have coffee key board issues now because of you.

Yea those levers were going all right, I guess my own 94 could do that, not sure if I would hit much. Good on them.

I'm still amazed that a man of your experience and stature could be pushed backwards by such a small saw. You really shouldn't be allowed to ever touch a saw again.

That seems a little extreme.......:embarrassed:

Morning all,
Ive never cut down palms, but neigbour has 7 which he wants cut down
Any advise on ,cleaning the saw in any way and would you recommend doing palms again or are they best left for some one elses saws
Regards Peter

I do lots of palms in Townsville

cleaning is important.
I use a cheap paint brush that I trim the hairs until they are about 9 mm or 3/8" long this makes them stiff.
I use compressed air.
I do this after most cutting
If I have been doing palms I wash the with truck wash and a little kero to remove any sap.
I always start saws after washing to get some heat into them to help dry and to make sure that any water that may have got into the air filter or muffler is definitely gone.

I will often leave them in the sun to finish drying.

Cutting palms

you need different technique as they are not trees
they are not made of wood

the outer ring has the strength to resist squashing under the pressure of its own weight but the core will sag and pinch the bar
you will need to do mostly bore cutting and leaving the edges intact to keep the bar from pinching and then do the edges last.

got yo you tube and look for videos of palms being cut
look for those that deal with the bar being pinched

there is a guy that likes to get himself on TV news to promote his business,
he has issues.
apart from that has put up some decent videos of how to cut palms on youtube

The only cap I've ever had let go and dump oil down my leg was an MS660's screw cap and due to my own stupidity. I've never had an issue with flippies but still think they're just another one of Stihl's retarded ideas. A moron will struggle to wreck a screw cap but give that same moron a flippy and see what happens...

Good luck :D As mentioned before he's a cluey little buggar.

He is also generous and shared some secret squirrel coffee roasting tips
the green beans I'm producing will either be better or worse than what you can buy.
my only advantage will be time from the branch to the cup

You'll struggle with Sultanas in your climate without a massive array of botryticides and fungicides. Not impossible in a home garden with heavy and constant rates of PMBS but definately "send you broke" material in a commercial situation. At least if you managed to get a few bunches through you could sell them for $20 each.

thanks for that

the only reason I'm doing it is to please my six year old daughter

I am not modifying mine...........how long I resist after watch the video is another matter.
how long can I wait before watching the video is the real question

I love the 'dual port expansion chamber'
That's the smallest pipe I've ever seen :D.

That bottom outlet could start the odd fire or three too
The cylinder base photo's look remarkably like the ones the dude on US ebay posted with his 'hot rod' 346, including the file marks and the language of the ad is similar too. I'll see if I can find pics.
No squish cut, just a (little) polish, as has been done to the piston crown.
it may help carbon build up, but it sure as hell won't make any more grunt.

Anyone know 'Joe' from Warwick ? (If there is indeed a 'Joe' from Warwick who is also into photography.)
DEG are the Husky dealer there.

Not at all Neil. You could hurt yourself or others. Dean said you could be dangerous at times :D

Well that's it then, i'm gone. If i'm proven unsafe and a danger to myself or others the committee has no option but to refuse my entry. that's the end of that story.

Now run along and tell Dean, I don't care, I can race over in west Oz, they don't know me.

Hey long time no see Chris, how are things in your neck of the woods?

good mate ,thanks for asking,i been here on and off ,I mean that too ,my mobile broadband has been giving me the schits, can't figure if Telstra service is to blame or not ,gotta keep reconnecting and unplugging the device just to get a few mins of net time:msp_confused::msp_confused:

The saws are build by a shady character in the US and there have been quite a few treads about him. But at least he has cleaned up his port work a bit, the cylinders used to look like someone had attacked them with a horse rasp. So lets just say buyer beware...

Yeah bluddy telstra aye, providing grief to 98% of the population. Hope you can get it fixed ASAP.

Yeah thats right Rick, questionable workmanship for sure...

I don't know Joe, but he has been selling (or trying to) new husky for the past 6 months or so. I guess he bought into that builders BS and now imports them too. But looks like he might do drop shipping from the US with those kinds of shipping prices.
