I completely removed the back side of the cutting disk so now it cant be flipped other and use the other edge.

It now cuts so much faster.

It used to be so slow I was going to bin it.

works best at slower rpm as it give the weeds time to stand back up and get hit again.

Hmm, I have to get a spindle adapter to mount the two blades I have before I knock over some young Boxthorns, good tip David.

Matt, just putting together an order together for Kyle @ E&E and was adding an AV spring set and clutch springs along with some air filters, can you think of anything else ?

I already have chain rubbers and catchers, ignition switch, fuel/oil caps, chip deflector (I think), maybe add an oil pump kit ?

Wonder if there's any advantage to the new windowless piston, or if it's just a production cost change by Mahle ? Hmm....

I've heard he's been adding it at 40:1 in his Cahoon built 880's.

Maybe so, but you hear and read a lot of stuff on the forums and need to believe these statements with caution.

On a different note,,,
Spent some time a while back at a mates funeral with former race champion / NSW stall ward and former president of the resolved Mc Arthur Post Splitters Association, Mr Keith Polsen.

He knew I was down as was quite a few of us, so in true Keith style he preceded to inform me of his pending return to full time racing, with the desired intension of Kicking my Ar** (bottom).
He also preceded to explain how easy a task it will be, and of coarse I told him to have a go (and of coarse he will) and I can bet when he returns, his impression will be very noticed. I do look forward to his return in the second half of our season.
This helped me get through the day as it was very difficult to cope with everything.

Carry on gentlemen, I just had a dribble moment.

that's no good mate when you lose a mate,i nearly lost one a few years ago in a truck accident, was real close too,in ICU royal Brisbane for awhile ,had to learn how to speak ,walk and do pretty much everthing we take for granted all over again, can I just say I have the uttmost respect for our emergency services and medical staff.

It probably wouldn't have mattered but i didn't want it to be too obvious the muffler had been doctored seeing as it's a Bush Fire Brigade saw, and taking the end out of teh cage has the same effect as removing it all together.

From memory the cage in the mufflers were introduced for a few different reason, one being that the earlier 064/066's were prone to cracking around the Ex port (due to the raw power I presume) and the cage provided a bit more support around that area. Also they deflect the direct heat away from the front cover and also muffle the sounds a bit which is not such a bad thing on a muscle saw like the 66. So I usually modify mine the way Rick did, haven't had any issues so far.

Have you worn out your 7901 already Rick :confused2:

Hasn't done near enough work yet Rudi, maybe if I dropped another 9,990 trees to catch up to Matt it might have started to get a little tired.
I just like to have spares to hand of things that can go wrong easily so they can be fixed just as easily and not bodged.

Even though I'm the King of Bodgieing I hate doing it, I'd rather do it properly the first time.

Yes I know what you mean, the few dollars you spend now can prevent a lot of headaches later on. Let me know if you are ordering bulk HD air
filters.

I was just ordering a couple of spare paper elements, I can tag a couple on easily enough.

Things like the on/off switch and caps I just like to have in the spares box.

We all have a saw where the stop switch doesn't work but I hate having to choke to stop all the time.
It'd only take me to be too heavy handed once in a pinch to stretch an AV spring, and a complete set cost less than two RHS handle springs and I reckon a lost or leaky cap could really ruin your day.

If you could add 2 HD filter elelments I would be very grateful, one of mine fell apart so I'm running a bit low.

Oil and fuel lines mate. An oil pump kit may be worthwhile but not sure how often they actually fail. I have a heap of clutch springs in the shed and need to change mine as I'm getting a bit of ting, ting, ting at idle. I have all sorts of goodies here for the 7900's but apart from chewing out a few chip deflectors I really haven't needed any of them as yet.

(due to the raw poser I presume)

I always thought Rick was a poser too Rudy but I digress...

There has to be a fair bit of group buying power in the posters on this thread, if we could ever get our act together. I'll volunteer to be the NZ warehousing division. Is a 40% pilfering rate acceptable? It'll still be cheaper than sending individual items here through AusPost.

Hey I had this comment from a guy last night on Youtube. Pretty funny :)

"I always went for as long a bar as practical then I moved to Oz, holy crap the wood can be hard here. If you'd asked me back in the UK if an 88 with a 30" .404 was a good combo I'd have laughed at you, I'm not laughing now as I've met dead gum :)"
