I did A job to day for one of the wifes work mates
Plumber installed a second had hot water system and told her she needed an electrician.
The plumber had changed the pipe work to make it a little easyier for him and charged $250
The wires are now to short.
Went home and got my 1/2 inch tube benders and redid the plumbing so the wires would reach.

It took longer to drain the 250 litre tank than it did to fix it

Payment was a a sandwich and a yoghurt each for the youngest two kids

Good on you Dave, it will catch up with both of you! :msp_wink:

I did a job for a lady who split up with her hubby and all her good nick older antenna needed to be serviceable again was a balun fitted. I know there is another fella getting around who would immediately replace the antenna for a $500 fee.

To change the story, the wife and I have smart phones with 1.5 gig data and $550 calls allowance and we've decided to drop the landline/internet that costs $65/month after a storm blew the modem even though it was switched off. The idea was to go mobile broadband. Telstra want $49 a month/24mths so decided to go another route. I have an old Huawei E169 modem through Virgin that I've used for when I was away logging and it takes an external antenna. At home out of town I couldn't get reception on the modem (Virgin uses the Optus system) so I fitted an external Yagi antenna (900mhz) on the TV antenna mast. I now get full signal strength. I don't have a meter to check this frequency for tuning purposes but the Virgin program shows signal strength on the lappy so I had the wife sit next to the computer and shifted the antenna till there was full signal and stable. The modem sits in a mobile modem wireless router. Excellent setup with the speeds the best it's ever been and only need to hit up Virgin for some prepaid if we go over on the phones. I tried out an old CDMA bullbar mount antenna for a week and had consistent 2 bars even though CDMA was 850mhz, (same as Telstra Next G), so even though it wasn't meant for 900mhz, it was still pulling some gain.

Any of you blokes have a WJ carb off of a 066 that you might want to part with? I'm thinking of upgrading from the 17mm C3M carb on the 365BB and fitting a 19mm WJ.

The model carb I'm looking for is a WJ 35, 42, 51, 52, 62, 65, 66, 67 or 69.

What calibre? I like those Number 1's. Beautiful rifle. My uncle has one in .223 Rem.

Yup 223V Varmint, tis a great joy to shoot at the range. In time I'll get myself and the rifle sorted and ma groups will trim down. At the mo, well lets say I need some wee scope n trigger tinkering and heaps more of practice....

Are you Greek or Italian?
If you're lucky it might even have a couple more HP than the 3120 :D
:D hey matt, howz things? and NO olive's in my gene pool bro  grandfathers a Aussie Digger, fought the nips in Papua New Guinea ..he's from Ireland mate, jumped ship to OZ before the war in his early teens ..me parents are born and breed in Oz ...whole family has fuel in our blood tho, last names Grice ...If ya know ya Bathurst history you might remember one of me relo's racing on the Mountain, and yeah mate the 302 Windsor is a powerhouse just as the 3120 is at the top of its game

Its was years ago that i tuned my one in but let me say this the for end pressure and the way its held on has a lot to do with accuracy.

Exactly right Andrew. As a rule the Number 1's with a two piece stock take a bit to get accurate (as in really accurate) out of the box and it is entirely to do with forend pressure. Once they're setup properly they are great. The only rifle out of the box that I've never been able to improve on (apart from handloading) is my Tikka T3 stainless varmint. That thing will shoot 1/2 MOA all day long. My CZ527 in .222" and Win 70 in .22/250 40° Ackley Hornet took a bit more work to get that accurate. All the CZ needed was a good action bedding and floating whereas the Mod 70 took that plus a 27" Kreiger barrel.

Ah good old Aussie history. My mum's dad was a rat of Tobruk plus other places (not the Pacific though) and my dad's dad was with the army as a transport driver in Darwin when the Japs bombed it (dad has the barometer out of the Darwin Post Office after the place was hit - funnily enough it's German made :D). Dad was a nasho driving Ferret Scout Cars back in the 60's but they never went to Vietnam. If he'd have been in the Centurion tanks he'd have gone over. I tried to join the army too but because I had asthma it was a no go :( In hindsight I'm not sure if that was a good idea or not but I'm a 100% born and bred patriotic Aussie. A long lost rellie of my old man was a bushranger too. Fred Ward or "Captain Thunderbolt" - I'm not making that up either. Unfortunately I was one upped by a classmate at high school who's last name was Bonney. He was related to Ned Kelly. At least Fred was known as a gentleman.

By the way those 302's are a good donk mate.
Old Alan Grice eh? The only bad thing he ever did was beat my favourite Skyline GTR's around Bathurst in the early 90's in a Commodore if I'm not mistaken :)
