The tribunal is chaired by His Excellency RandyMac, a pristine example of the breed, and an OGDF. All are tough to convince...
And the hat Roland, that hat!
Since this thread got bumped I'll ask here. What should the ring gap be on a super 250? Looks like a chrome top ring and a cast 2nd ring. Old Mac info says .004-.012", some kart info for some of the 87cc motors says .007" minimum. Right now I have fitted a set of .010 over rings to .004" measured just below the exhaust ports, but I'm scared and won't put it together until I hear some imput.

Some of you know I recently got a Super 250 the other day and haven't got to cut with it yet. Well today I went over in the woods and fired her up and went to my downed tree I haven't finished cutting up. I fired this saw up and started cutting and almost started laughing... Not because it was lame but because of the DRASTIC difference from my regular 250 to this Super. I was thinking holy crap this thing is bad ass... I couldn't believe how much more power this sucker had. It was like I put a blower on it and she was screaming... The more I pulled the throttle the more she wanted to be fed. This really is a whole nother animal I was impressed with it.
Thing is I don't think I am going to want to use the regular 250 anymore after using this saw today or it will be quite awhile before I pick it up again. Man you could feel the strong pull of the engine just wanting more fuel to put out more power. Yes I love this saw indeed!! I didn't have to give my left or my right nut for it but it's worth it from just a plain jane 250. Now both of my saws have the same compression so it was a good comparison between the two. As stated before here again this Super 250 has 125psi like all other saws I have bought. I don't know what it is but 125 seems to be the magic number when it comes to saws that I buy.
I did get that 440 the other day and it is stout. I know that saw has a lot more psi but I haven't hooked a gauge to it yet. But anyway now I know about the difference in the two saws. I was asking awhile back is there really that much difference between 7cc and the porting of the Super? And I would say hell yes there is a huge difference. If you don't have one and want one I would be looking and if one comes along at a good price BUY IT you won't be disappointed. Now I'll be interested to see how the 440 feels against the Super 250 beings both are 87cc. I don't know if the 440 has porting done to it like the 250 but I know it will be a good runner. :hmm3grin2orange:

Hey Nick,
You're going to get kicked out of the club before your probation is over if you are not careful. Lets just keep quiet on these (not so) little gems, lest the masses on the interwebs find out and start buying them up. Then I will NEVER find an 80cc yellow top to complete my Super collection.
Yours truly,
Class Clown
There's a guy on the local CL here who's been asking $250 for a Super 250 for about 6 months now. It looks OK but I can for sure find a better deal. Dunno why he thinks it's worth so much. I can say that if a Super 250 is so much stronger than a regular 250, then I definitely need to find a Super 550 to compare to my regular 550, because that thing is awesome.
