Looking at some of the saws that I've got torn down right now, around 14 to 16 gauge.

OK. Was thinking this myself, but wanted to go with a 14. Thanks for the info.

On another note, looking to restore/refinish my '96 model Super XLAO. Does anyone know where I can get the Super XLAO Decals and the sticker that goes on the air filter cover?

Or maybe thinking a Hand-written stencil paint over lettering.

Looking to do an orange-on-black design with it. Body will be Black and crank case/bar cover will be blaze orange.

Its my daily saw, but I want her to stand out in a crowd!! Everyone notices her when she runs. Suzie just needs a new dress this year.

I am in need of an IPL for my 2000A. I have IPL's for various 2100 saws, but none for the 2000A. I found out this weekend that the 2100 intake gaskets I ordered are different than 2000 gaskets. Would like to avoid that sort of flub in the future. Thanks guys!

Edit:

Forgot to mention that the Tillotson HL272A (I think that's the #...) carb on this saw has a governor (like on many Tillotson HS carbs I've seen). This is the first governed Tillotson HL that I've had. I disabled the governor valve the same way that I disable the governors on my governed HS carbs. Cut a .25" disc of aluminum from a PBR can and placed it in the governor bore before reseating the governor valve. Worked like a charm.:D

I was looking in the 3rd edition repair manual and it notes that the 2000 carb came with a governor. It was also spec'd as the replacement carb for XP-1020 and XP-1130 saws as well

Check out Sugar Creek Supply for the label you are looking for.

Thnx. Found the decals. Still thinking about whether or not to get them, or make a custom Script-style logo and words and put the name of my saw on it.

I love it so much I want it to be totally unique so any comments on the paint scheme?

Black body, blaze orange sides and script lettering?

I'm thinking of using one of these two for a fresh look.

Votes on which one guys. Left or Right?

MOVED

Moved this to a pole on new thread. Restoration Pole.

Thnx

Hmmm my XP-1020 has a mechanical accelerator pump and idle bypass in the intake elbow. I guess you plug the bypass to use it.

One of my XP-1020's has that same accelerator pump equipped Tillotson HL carb (and 'bypass' intake elbow) while the other has a non-bypass elbow and an HL243 (or HL242...can't remember right now) variant with no accelerator pump. That XP-1020 is somewhat of a frankensaw, so the carb and manifold may not be original. Both have scored P/C's and are back-burner projects. Right now I can't remember what carb and manifold my Super XP1130 has...

Anybody have the IPL for the XL-15 gear drive? I've got an early XL-12 I'm going to put the drive on, but don't have the info and may actually not have all the parts to either.

Or, someone who know what I need to do to get it to run this drive, as in what the process was to convert it... seems the clutch nut is in the way :dizzy:

I have the IPL for the XL Automatic gear drive on my home computer. PM me your email address.

If it's like the C-Series GD unit, the clutch nut is removed when the GD cover is installed. You know I have a genuine XL-15 (with MN/SN tag) that's missing the GD clutch cover. Might part with it for the right deal. It runs and is in nice shape....

You may want to post in the 'Swap Meet' thread in the Stickies section .... I'm sure someone has a boot to send you.

Hi all, I just got a nice 66 super wiz going and I have a question about the chain. It has an H stamped on the cutters and the number 40 on the drive link. Can anyone identify this chain? I looked on Acres' site but couldn't find anything..thanks!
