Maybe just make a wall hanger in the garage out of it
I put new fuel line and filter I checked the breather put some steel wool in temp so it breathes and also tried with cap unscrewed a little bit. I rebuilt the carb new kit checked metering height everything its got me confused I just can't figure it out.
Can anyone point me in the right direction I got a homelite 360 started having problems with it. Here's the info new intake boot, rebuild carb, new crank seals cleaned everything new plug ect. Problem is starts up fine idles let it warm up start cutting after log or two just dies wont restart have to take transformer off and plug out let it air out. Is this a fuel issue should get a new carb or coil heating up taking a crap?
That is cool. When I got my first choker setting job, I took a stick to my new tinfoil hat so I didn't look so "new"...dumb kid.Hi guys,
I went to a few flea markets the other day and ran across this old metal logging hat. I think I have only seen one Homelite hat compared to the McCulloch hats. I don't remember what the Homelite hat looked like i saw a long time ago but this one looks pretty old. Are there a few different types of these? What doed the oldest hat look like?
I think it has FC McDonald company stamped on it along with a bunch of patent dates. Anyway it is in real good shape besides the one dent on the top but that adds character to it and tells a story. I'm glad I ran across it as I collect anything Chainsaw related. Pretty nice.
Ya, I saw the oxidation too.... I'm going to try to email the seller and see what happens.I'd take my chances on that one for $50. Parts are everywhere and the saw is a classic. Only thing I see that gives me pause for a bit of concern is what appears to be oxidation on the airbox cover and the handle, which if present to any significant degree on the bottom of the case could be problematic as "white death" deterioration on down the road somewhere...., depending on what it is I'm actually seeing in the pics and the storage environment of the saw over the years.
Got it! Downloaded and saved as PDF. It just looks like a fun saw to play with once in a while. They are pretty sturdy saws. Tillotson HL carb so kits are readily available, manual oilers are pretty simple. If it doesn't have spark you may have to clean and set the points.
Hopefully the piston and cylinder are in good shape. You will likely need fuel and maybe oil line. I'l PM you an IPL and a service manual to browse through.

I just had my nephew pick me up a C9 this weekend for $40.Hey fellas. I found a C-52 for $50. I'm seeing 77cc's for 50 buck and can't get past that! The add says it runs but needs carb cleaned. I know nothing about these saws other than what Acres has in their profile. I think I can most likely figure the saw out with the info in this site and tinkering. Maybe a winter project.... How scarce and expensive are parts, carb kits and whatever else? I hate to get the saw, dump a bunch of cash in it and find a saw that I really want and be short.
What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance. Here's a few pics.
The guy emailed me back - the saw is still available. Will ask for pics of the underside of the saw. If I decide to get it I will not be able to p/u until this weekend. Might be able to use the oxidation/deterioration as leverage on the price. Will try to keep you guys updated.Ya, I saw the oxidation too.... I'm going to try to email the seller and see what happens.
