I can't even throw chips 15 ft with my throwing arm 15 feet... UNLESS they are balled up and wet! lol

my :msp_rolleyes: was for :

A: it is a FRANKENSAW...
B: it DID NOT come from his uncle and is selling it for his auntie:rolleyes: (look @ the BS in his other listings about clapped-together 038-mags that came from 'display cases....' :bang:
C: the 7hrs a year, for 10 years cutting firewood..... GOOD GOD.

there is NO WAY IN HELL:

it has 'only' 70 hrs (look @ the condition of the YELLOW tank)
it is ONE saw... the cyl cover is from a 660, BUT, it's NOT a 660...

to put it plainly, he did WELL for what it was, with a mis-leading description.

I HOPE the chassis of this saw is not a 2k hr saw, and he just polished a turd...:angry2:

He's got another 038 listed now. Same stupid story. I checked his purchase history and he bought an aftermarket 038 mag piston and cylinder a couple weeks ago. I sent him an email telling him I love the stories he makes up, and that he should mention the saw has an aftermarket p/c. :msp_angry:

Let me know when his maternal great grandmother can no longer use her Stihl concrete saw that has extremely low hours. I could use one.

echo 600p

Hey guys. I am new to the site. I am considering buying a "new in the box" echo 600-p from a guy on craigslist. He is asking $375. Anybody have thoughts on the quality of the saw and/or the price?

Here's an AS link from previous postings: http://www.arboristsite.com/chainsaw/104182.htm

With current MSRP between $559.00-589.00 I'd start at about 50% once I figured out if it was a legit(non-knockoff) saw.

I've been seeing that ad recently. $375.00 is a good price, biggest potential problem is what if it's a stolen saw. Here's a recent thread that discussses the CS-600P.

That was one of my first thoughts. I mean who buys a $550-$600 saw and never takes it out of the box? I've contacted the seller and he said "Bought it on net for my new go ped was going to use engine. I did not realize go ped was spendal drive can't fab it to much work."

I'm a firefighter here in Houston with good friends in law enforcement. If I can get the guy right on the price (I'm thinking $250-$275) and nothing is setting off major alarm bells I will have a cop buddy run the serial number to check if it is stolen.

I have one job lined up that will more or less cover the cost of the saw, and I would like to have a larger saw on hand for whatever hurricane season has in store.

I wouldn't count on getting a lot off the $375.00 price, that's already a good price for NIB.

If you could remove that tree on the left of that dogleg par 5 at Hermann Park I'd appreciate it..........lol.

Don't waste YOUR TIME or HIS with a SUPER low-ball offer like that. I'd tell ya what I'd tell ya... go pound-sand IF it was stolen, the $250 I would say would be fair....

AND....BTW, MANY people will buy a pair of saws with a good size impending job up-and-coming to MAKE SURE they have a back up, like you and the 'hurricane season'... :)

take a look at the classifieds here... OLDSAWNUT has a NIB ms650... my point exactly

I totally agree....

It is a little bigger saw than I feel like I need, and a little more than I want to spend. The guy says he "must sell" so I kinda figure lets make a deal (saw has been advertised for quite a while).

But hey you guys are just giving me good advice at no charge, which I appreciate.

I'll see what I can do about that par 5.

well this is just weird. Popped up a couple hours ago.

Same seller you referred to in your previous post? If not, you have bargaining leverage against first seller. If so, maybe the sheriff and his posse are getting closer to him .... :msp_biggrin:

And I promise I didn't post that to try to drive the first guy down on his price.

Haha, that's funny. I'd contact the "new" seller, and get some basic info before going any futher.
Man all I get here are NIB Homelites with auto tensioners.....:msp_thumbdn:

They are different sellers in different areas. If I bust up a crime ring maybe I can get some reward money and buy any damn saw I want.

I used to buy and sell heavy equipment for a living. I'd like to say I'm good at this kind of thing, but really it is just luck.

I had some good luck buying saws off CL. Never any problems.
Been looking for a used car for my daughter so I'v been searching CL also. Found a very nice used Honda, low miliage and a great price. I e-mailed the seller about the car and this is the responce from her.

Hi, first of all I want to thank you for your interest in my 2004 Honda Accord
EX-L. I sell it at this price $ 1.900, because i have just finished a divorce. I
have it in Boynton Beach,FL because i live here. It has only 29000 miles. The
car is paid off, clean title,i have the title in hand. The divorce finished 6
months ago and the Honda is mine now. After the divorce I was forced to buy a
new house. Following the financial crisis I can't afford to pay the bank and i
have decided to sell the car. My ex-husband bought it and has only been garage
kept. As you can see from the pictures it is in excellent condition. It has many
extras including a/c,cruise control, am/fm, trunk liner, spare is brand new, all
manuals are included,2 keys, navi, leather. I had the oil changed about 2 weeks
ago. This Honda runs as good as a new one and has no dings, dents, or scratches.
From the beginning you have to know that for the payment I request only secure
pay. I prefer the payment to be done using e Bay services (I will receive the
payment only after you receive and inspect the car and only if you agree to buy
it). We will use a safe payment method because I am affiliated at e Bay and I
have a purchase protection account. The last price for this is $1,900, no
trades, only cash and only with e bay, because I cannot sell otherwise. I will
pay for shipping and handling(the loan of my previous buyer didn't get approved
and he paid the shipping costs) so there won't be any additional shipping
costs).
If you are interested in buying it please contact me and confirm that you wish
to buy it so I can initiate the deal through e Bay.
You will receive all the info once you email me and confirm. I cannot sell
personally that is why the price is lower than usual.
I will wait your answer (if you are interested to buy) very soon.

I think I'll stick to only buying chainsaws on CL!
