It is similar in design to the stihl AV mount, but it's smaller and 'tilted' (offset towards one side) while the stihl part is larger and 'square'. I have two torn ones like the mount pictured, and need at least one good one for a S25-CVA that I'm rebuilding. A spare (or three) would be nice to have on hand in case any of my 30+ year old 'good' AV mounts fail. I hope we can figure out what saw that rubber AV buffer with the internal threads and the flange in the middle of it (that Mike pictured as his 'fix') is intended for (and it's still available).:msp_thumbup:

If you're talking about the bracket itself, I suppose you could make a copy from the one pictured but I don't know about the rubber part.

saw a red 3.7 craftsman branded poulan yestiddy at a pawn shop. said he'd come down to $65. saw appears to be in good shape but air filter missing some flocking and chain is on its last sharpening. 20" bar in good shape.
haven't pulled the muffler but if p&c look good and it will pop is that a good price? seems just a bit high to me but i don't know.

$65 I think is very reasonable for a 3.7. Air filters are available on ebay for cheap. Chains are needing replaced all the time. If it's all there and you want a good saw this might be it.

The only markings on the rubber piece says 150.
I'm not sure what it came from it was just in my spare parts bin.
It will need a nut behind it but it should work great.
Do you need me to send you what I have here Randy???

Yes Sir Mike, that would be a blessing my friend.

I just spoke with Jer........he's working on the carby.

Pretty sure it will. Bought one from Bryce but couldn't find the description anymore. I think it listed both P62 and 655 for it.

I sure hope it fits, I have one on its way. Now I just need to find all the chain brake parts......
Thanks for the help!

poulan 245 came today

I was surprised that it came so soon the guy said it might not get here for another week. It is a dirty one. I think it is in decent shape except the clutch cover which is unusable and the piston is scored up I was hoping the rings were just worn out but that is not the case. The power sharp seems to be all there the decompression button seems to work and the rest of the saw is there. so i will be looking for a new piston ( I already have the rings) I will tear into it another night-been a long day.

I must have cad. I just bought another 245 a to see if he piston is good maybe maybe not. I didnt need it in the first place but I wanted it and now that I have it I want it to run Poulan 245 A | eBay maybe this is all the parts I need maybe not but I need to hear it run.

Hopefully the slug and jug on that 245 will be in good shape for you. Just know that the one you just bought has no decomp but it can be used on your 245SA as long as you use the throttle lock from the 245 and plug the holes in the carb box on the SA when you remove the decomp linkage from it.

if the jug on the 245sa is sill good can I just change the slug from the 245a (supposing that this one is good) or do I have to keep the set together?
Thanks, Nick.

I was just assuming from the picture of that scored piston, ,that the jug is going to have some damage as well. Most like that I have come across do. Now if your decomp jug is ok, then yes you can probably get away with swapping the piston in it.

Myself, I would keep the matched set together and do away with the decomp on that saw. That auto style decomp can have problems and its not really needed on those saws anyway.

So I pulled the side cover off my micro XXV delux tonight, and chunks of solidified fuel line fell out. Now I could be wrong, but I'm think'n that has something to do with it not running. :msp_lol:

Does anyone have a service manual for this little gal?

I pulled the 25 different layers of muffler baffles apart (the displacement has nothing to do with it's name - it's the muffler packing they named it after), and the piston has a couple scratches on the exhaust side, but looks pristine on the intake side. I think once I go through it, she'll be a great little saw. I really like the balance and weight of it, now I just need to make her work.
