You should leave that hole open. Its purpose is to lubricate the clutch bearing.Has anyone tried to secure the hole under the clutch bearing in toasters? To reduce draft in the crankcase

Crankshaft sealsIf you have to plug that hole, then there is something else wrong that needs attention.

I'll try, but it seems that the metal ring is only on the outside and is thin, maybe I can screw it inTake a punch and drive the seal in just a bit to break it loose. Sometimes if i have room I use a tiny drill bit and drill a hole in the seal, then put a metal screw in it then pry it up and out.
