So underneath the saw I gave up a primo Wild Thing for it says 1-50 and the other side says 10832. So is it a 1-50?

60 some drive links of brand new Carlton .404, and the bar is usable. If someone needs a patch for the screen door, the air filter will work perfect.

I'm needing some help you guys here. I don't have many Mac but I did come across this one. I'm needing at least a pistion. I didn't have time to tear it all the way down but I do know I need a piston and rings. Maybe crank bearings and seals while I'm at it. PM me if you might have these parts or can lead me in the right direction to get these parts.

You need to determine if it has an "A", "B" or "C" piston. Pistons are the same as SP80, SP81, PM800, PM805, PM850 and PM8200*. The cylinder should be marked (stamped) with one of these letters- usually near the plug. If it has no markings then it is a "B". Ebay sellers have these pistons usually around $65.00 but some are higher and there has recently been some "B"s for $45. Be sure they include the rings and the wrist pin bearings before you order. You will need the part numbers for the bearings and seals then google them. Ron

*(PM8200 has a different crank and rod; SP80, SP81 & PM 850 has a different crank and flywheel.)

Does it have a large gearbox with RH start like an 895, or the compact "under cover" 650/660 gearbox and LH start?

Waiting for the pics and bore measurement...

Nice E your full of good info..It's a original 797 right hand start with the huge gearbox black tank with 797 cover. Saw was from original owner said he got it from the McCulloch dealer which the gearbox was added not stock indeed. I pick it up next week got to go back down to the valley to get it. There's still tent space next to Ambull at the shop:hmm3grin2orange:..

Interesting. Reserve me a tent space for sure. The dealer probably took a gearbox assembly and related parts (crankcase stuffer, handlebar bracket, etc) from a 1-85/1-86/840/890/895 (or used new parts) and assembled a "797G" or "897" (builder gets to call it what he wants................Lee called his a "797G") using a 797 engine to allow him to sell a McCulloch saw to the loggers that would perform the same job as a Homelite 3100G (running BIG bars at decent speed). A saw that McCulloch should have built...

Duck bill valve.

Does anyone know where I can get a suitable replacement for the duck bill valve that's the vent in the gas cap of a Mac 250? I've searched alot but been coming up empty.

I have a line on a Pro Mac 555. It needs a new gas cap but otherwise is good to go. I'm thinking if I can get it for $40-50 I would make out pretty good. I already have a 10-10 that runs great but I hear the 555 has a bit more azz. Any thought or opinions I should consider about this model?

Here's my mini mac 6 with a 10" bar I just installed on it. Had to change the sprocket from 1/4" pitch to 3/8" to fit the 10" chain. I dont care what any of you say this is a cool little saw. (yes it runs great)

Glad you like it! I like them okay when they're running, just don't like to work on them..

Do any of you guys have an automatic oil pump for the 890 style Mac geardrives that you can spare. I can pay or trade I have a parts 7-10 with a good top end to trade or lots of other mac parts. Any help would be great. Thanks

I was having some trouble matching up parts from my CP70L/PM850 Frankensaw so today I went through my box of parts and I found the ones that will match up. Here is a video, let me know what you think on how it looks, it absolutely runs like a beast. There is something about the 82cc McCulloch 10x power plant that makes them shine. I will shoot a video of it in wood when I have some available.

Seems to run sweet. Haven't cut with her yet. Will try her out
this week end. Another 100cc's to the stable.
