I've asked once, I'll ask again. Do you run oil temperature gauges in any of your motorized equipment?

I have 41 years proof my first 10 hp merc was still running when it got stolen. my second one is only 3 years old so see me in 38 years and I will probably tell you the same. BTW I put a lot of fishing hours in. Don't need an oil gaige for that kind or record Ben.

Oh and my 038 is stock and I bought it late seventies some time and has never been opened>>>>all Stihl oil.

Here goes someone else talking about scientific proof. We don't need it don't want it and as Ben has said a zillion times where there is smoke there is fire. Good thing there is alot of water around those outboards.

Don't let science get in the way of your understanding of something that magically happens for you. Ignorance seems to work for too many.

Yes, I do. I have a SPA digital gauge pack in my Dodge diesel.

I almost hate to get involved in this fight but here are my un-scientific observations. I purchased a quart of Amsoil 100/1 Sabre mix after reading about it being the answer to all the world's problems. I mixed some up at the 100:1 rate and used it in an old craftsman leaf blower and an old Shindaiwa chainsaw. Both started fine ran fine, very little smoke and have suffered no ill effects. The next batch I mixed at 75:1 and used in an old LawnBoy push mower, it too ran fine and no smoke. I have 3 Stihl chainsaws MS260, MS361 and 044. I have NEVER ran Amsoil in them and never will, only Stihl oil at 50:1, I think the Amsoil would be OK but I don't have the guts is my only excuse. I think that synthetic oil is better than conventional oil in the fact that the base is synthetic and more stable at all temperatures. I run Mobil 1 in my automobile and will continue to do so. So that is my experience and opion for whatever it is worth. I think everyone should just take a deep breath and treat everyone with respect IMHO. thanks

Hey Walker, I don't need to convince you of anything. I'm already convinced. Whether you choose to believe what I write, that's your choice. Certainly you can ask alot of questions, alot that I can't answer. That doesn't change the conclusion I come to.

Next time you're around a Ferrari F1, ask them what kind of oil they use. Then you can argue with them. Chances are very good there will be a representative petroleum engineer, (which I am not) right there and you can ask him lots of questions.

I use castor oil in my saws, but may try klotz in the future. I got caught years ago by this guy he offered me some magic bean oil and it was over.

and yes Mr. I do look after my things methodically and anally. And no Gypo or u will not touch my saw LOL.
