Why would he bother? He already knows synthetics aren't any better!

I use syntheitcs in most of my stuff btw and am well aware of what their advantages are.

Hey Walker, I don't need to convince you of anything. I'm already convinced. Whether you choose to believe what I write, that's your choice. Certainly you can ask alot of questions, alot that I can't answer. That doesn't change the conclusion I come to.

Next time you're around a Ferrari F1, ask them what kind of oil they use. Then you can argue with them. Chances are very good there will be a representative petroleum engineer, (which I am not) right there and you can ask him lots of questions.

Now I understand the problem. Mercedes-Benz.

Ferrari is a love machine. Mercedes is the machine I love. I have invited Simon over and I will accost him and take his million and buy the Merc for 1/4 the price. It will be rebuilt in a thousand miles so I don't care about oil quality, just quantity.

My oh my. I'm going back to used oil after reading all the scientific evidence Bwalker, Tree co. and Stihlatit offered. Hope my neighbor is still changing his own oil.If not I'll have to siphon some from the local Jiffy Lubes waste oil tank.If petroleum based oil is superior....once used oil must be even better...I mean it proved its worth once already.LOL

Longevity is the yardstick of success>.>>>I doubt you will reach it with used oil.

Just remember to use it in the saws, not the cocktails. You appear too well lubed already.

Personal experience time. My brother in law owns a saw shop. Nothing major. He owns a 480 that he cleared 160 acres of woods over 4 years with. It is on it's second set of rings and third carb kit. That's it.

He used some synthetic (probably ten gallons) and his saw started trying to seize he adjusted it again and again. Then he dumped the gas and went back to the real stuff adjusted it once and has been problem free.

I am not as in touch with my saws as he is, but I doubt many are. Run what you want, just don't cry to me.

I rest my case>>>>>>>>maybe Ben can revive it with another sip of Amsoil.

Yes sir I see. A may be a newbie here, but I'm not a newbie to forums, or to smart a..es.;)

Wow, I go away to wash the truck and gas the boat and there are 3 more pages here. What passion about oil you all have, I guess this site is about oil and the chainsaws are just a way to test them.

Anyway bwalker, my boat is tuned just fine and gives off considerably less smoke than most others on the lake, I am of-coarse talking about idling, as at WOT, no outboard should give off noticeable smoke - my next boat will be a 4-stoke as I like no smoke at all. Thanks for your concern though.;)

My next post will be about which car wax to use, that is always a good one too. - oh wait, that is for the other web site. Maybe I should post about 2 stroke vs 4 stroke outboards - no no - that is for that other - other site.

Tread lightly and carry a black leather whip, and clean the gag ball...........

This might be a pivot thread, that might mark a major change............................

Which is just a step of evolution, or intelligent design of some form....

I would hate to think an amsoil infomercial was the main spark that
started it. But then again, Jan. just started......

The invasion is upon us.............All of us old pharts are wrong, let us
limp off to the elephant burial grounds and just die, as the new "guard"
wishes it to be so. And after all, they have "facts" to back up their
commercial..........
Us old pholks have obviously ruined this site, so I guess we should stand down, for the new "guard".......

By god, their stuff runs cooler, and that is "FACT"!!!
No refuting THAT!!!!

Lighten up, Francis!!!

OK, what movie was that from?

You obviously have no science and unintelligent design on your side. I'm sure your father lubed his bearings with bear grease and thought that modern petroleum based grease was just BS as well.
