'stang,
You must be talking about Schlabach's in Apple Creek. I have a job that takes me all over NE Ohio and I have been to quite a few Stihl dealers. None that I've found have a service dept as good as Schlabach's. M&M in Ashland is pretty good but too far away and the old guy at Smithville Hardware is pretty good too.

That would be my guess!!! Before I found this site, I had the local amish STIHL dealer rebuild the carb on my Husky...They are a good bunch of guys. Since then, I have done lots of business with them.

Today he came in and dropped $700.00 for a MS361, a case, extra chains, mix oil, the whole nine yards. When he left I said you know that 361 is going to outcut that Dolmar, he said cool, can't beat that. We both laffed and out the door he went.

So sappy, how's your new 361 going? :)

Yup he did try to rile me with that talk but I was the wiser, play that game many times before and come to think of it rarely ever lost one, lolol. He told me how he came about that Dolmar as well the day he brought it in. Claimed he bought it from a old Husky dealer years ago thats out of business now. He went on to tell me he went in to buy a Husky and the owner told him the Dolmar was a better saw. I didn't play into that either. I told him well Husky is a good saw too. He seemed to be after a opinion out of me and I wouldn't give him one because in my mind I was thinking I got a sale coming here, sure enough today it came.,lolol. Never argu with a potenial sale, always agree,lol...........

There's an ole saying that many a salesman should remember ....

... You were born with 2 ears and 1 mouth because you should do twice as much listening as talking.

and when the customer was telling you his story you listened to it, impartially.

sorry dude not into stihls or makita/dolmar.

I heard a salesman's saying once:

"Samson killed a thousand Philistines with the jawbone of an ass, and every day, ten thousand sales are killed with the same weapon."

Ok, SAp Jr. :monkey: Have you ever had a decent Dolmar or Stihl in your hands... Apparently not, because you are ignorant enough to make a claim like that. Let me guess, you have a 350 and think it rules the world? lol. Get real dood.

ok sap III I had many bad issues with both so i don't go back for more!! and i hate working on a stihl there worse than a mac or hommi :yoyo:

Oh give me a break. I've never seen a saw that was "hard" to work on. They're among the most simple mechanical devices imaginable.

Ha... try the Stihl 191T... not Stihl's shining moment...

Thumbs up Thall. If you would have turned him away like so many others would have because he didnt buy the saw from you or it was the wrong brand. You wouldnt have got the sale on the ms361. Must have some great customer service. WTG.

I don't turn away anyone Cut no matter what they walk in the door with. I do tellem up front and honest I only have Stihl parts, no others. They seem to understand it when I tell them that. I've fixed many a Husky, Mac, Poulans and others with adjustments and cleanings, replacing pull ropes, making a new chain or sharpenings and what have you but thats about all I can do with them. So far I've yet to have a problem with folks understanding I do what I can for them. Alot of times these same people come back and grab a new Stihl and I always tell them now ya talking, I got parts for those and they always reply with well you helped me out before. Works out pretty good for them and for me. Far as brand goes no, I don't ever make anyone think or feel mine is better than theirs but I somehow manage to lead them all over the shop and in the back room where the stock is,lol. They go out knowing if they later decide to buy a Stihl they know exactly where there is a bunch of it at, thats my bait, rest is merely up to them with no hassel or hardball tactics. Works out great..........................

Hey Sap, as long as I have your attention, perhaps you could fill us all in on your disclaimer of warranty.
